![]() ![]() On the violence, there’s pretty much nothing in this book. There’s also a very long awaited (and SUPER adorable) kiss, some flirting and lots and lots of angst. ![]() ![]() (But it’s Keefe this time, so it’s way less cringy! Plus, it’s Sokeefe, and who doesn’t love Sokeefe?) There’s also the series’ notorious love triangle, which appears to be wrapping up. Like, I’m talking about pages and pages (and pages!) of thinking about a boy. This book in particular is more romantic than others, and, while it’s not inappropriate, the romance is WAY more swoony and sometimes obsessive than other series like The Unwanteds and Wings of Fire. (This is coming from someone who has read the Hunger Games and Divergent series, so I know what I’m talking about :) While, yes, a ten-year-old could *probably* read the series, let me tell y’all, it’s more violent and has some jokes that aren’t in a series like, say, Percy Jackson. I will be writing this review for those who have read the books up until this point, so people reading this review who haven’t read books 1-8.5 first, beware! This review may or may not contain spoilers! So, now for the review! I’m going to separate this review into two sections: The Spice (Content) and The Sugar (My opinion on the book as well as what was great about the book.) The Spice: While the Keeper books are marketed at kids, I have never considered this a kids series. ![]()
